The Barcelona restaurant and catering group Grup Xàtiva owns three restaurants (including two traditional Arrosseria Xátiva rice restaurants – the original venue located in the neighbourhood of Les Corts and the other in the area of Gràcia– plus the restaurant La Tertúlia), a gastronomic social club, Comunitat 33, and the catering business Masfood, as well as running three cafés under a management licence.
The Group was created thanks to the drive of Maria Antonia Ribera Cabrero (a restaurant and hotel business professional with over 30 years' experience), together with her husband Miguel Angel López Barajas and their son, Alejandro López Ribera. The family is originally from the town of Xátiva, in whose honour the Group was named.
The company was established in October 2001, with the opening L'Arrosseria Xàtiva but was established as a group in 2004, with the management of the restaurant La Tertúlia and the catering business Masfood. In 2007, L'Arrosseria Xátiva was "cloned" in the area of Gràcia. Two years later, in 2009, Grup Xátiva acquired the licence to run three cafés under licence.
In 2012 it extended its business with the opening of the gastronomic social club Comunitat 33, a space welcoming groups and private or business events, meetings and celebrations. Grup Xàtiva is committed to great quality in its gastronomic products, with clear Mediterranean influences, playing with fresh, seasonal produce, taking great care of the ingredients and presentation of its dishes, not to mention the warm, pleasant and professional service provided by its staff.
